What are you doing:
All students are working in studio time. Carving or editing. Why are you doing this: Students in drawing are learning with a greater depth how contour lines can create depth, create meaning or value to an image and students in computers will discover how color relays meaning and messages subconsciously through self portraits. How are you doing this: Drawing: carve, carve, and carve. Computers: Continue taking the edits from class critique and rework. Due by May 3. What are you doing:
All students in computers will work with O'Ryan in a small class demonstration. All students in drawing will continue carving. What are you doing:
All students in drawing will work with O'Ryan on carving through a small class demonstration. All students in computers will post on Padlet by the end of class how far they have come in their Who am I project. Why are you doing this: Students in drawing are learning with a greater depth how contour lines can create depth or value to an image and students in computers will discover how color relays meaning and messages subconsciously through self portraits. How are you doing this: (Drawing) First: work with O'Ryan on carving through a small in-class demonstration. Computers: Work on Who am I and post on Padlet by the end of class how far you have come. On Padlet, in writing describe what else you plan on doing. What are you doing:
All students in drawing will have printed out their self portraits and transferred the image to linoleum. Computer students will begin working in Photoshop on the Who am I project. Why are you doing this: Students in drawing are learning with a greater depth how contour lines can create depth or value to an image and students in computers will discover how color relays meaning and messages subconsciously through self portraits. How are you doing this: (Drawing) First: use this studio time to begin transferring the self portraits to the linoleum and by Friday, carve. Computers: start putting the pieces together for Who am I. What self portrait works with this project?
What are you doing:
All students in drawing will begin finding their perfect self portrait, transfer to lino..and maybe begin carving by block day. All students in computers will work with O'Ryan on a PS demo. Why are you doing this: Students in drawing are learning with a greater depth how contour lines can create depth or value to an image and students in computers will discover how color relays meaning and messages subconsciously. How are you doing this: (Drawing) First: grab a computer and use PS to turn self portraits into B&W images. Print in either a 5x7 or 8x10 image. Computers: research color meanings found in the directions on the Who am I project and post what you learned on the padlet. Then hang with O'Ryan on a demo. What are you doing:
All students in drawing will know the basic first steps of the Printmaking Map Portrait Project by the end of class on Monday and begun carving by block day. All students in computers will have read over the Who am I requirements and begun researching color meanings. Why are you doing this: Students in drawing are learning with a greater depth how contour lines can create depth or value to an image and students in computers will discover how color relays meaning and messages subconsciously. How are you doing this: (Drawing) First: watch demonstration with O'Ryan on how to create a portrait in Illustrator, copy this to a piece of linoleum, and begin carving. Computers: research color meanings found in the directions on the Who am I project. 4/9/2017 Getting back into the swing of things: collage due on Wednesday and Three mini tutorials due on Friday.Read NowWhat are you doing:
Students in computers are working on the Three Mini Tutorials finishing by Friday. Students in Drawing will have the collage turned in on Wednesday and posted with a reflection on their individual websites. Why are you doing this:
How are you doing this: Drawing: collage art will be completed by Wednesday. 1. Take a photo of your work and paste this under the Collage Art section of your website. 2. In writing, answer the following questions: 1. What is the overall meaning of your composition and how did you reflect this? 2. Describe which elements and principles of design you included within your composition to relay your overall message. 3. What obstacles and successes did you encounter? How did you solve those obstacles? Afterwards: Look up three printmaking artists and their work. On your website: 1. Add a new page under Printmaking Map Portraits titled Research 2. Add in one image of art for all 3 artists. 3. In writing , tell me their name and where they are from. Then tell me what you liked about their work. Computers: upload all three mini tutorials onto your site. Remember to save the images as .jpg by changing the format under the Save As section on PS. Reflect in writing the short cuts used and what you learned for EACH tutorial. Due Friday.

All students will get back to work with a quick refresher challenge quiz: worth 50 points. Why are you doing this:
How are you doing this: Using Photoshop and a solid partner, create your best poster advertising the champions of the NCAA Mens Basketball Tournament. Once completed, post on Padlet with both artist's names, by the end of class. |
