What are we doing:
Students in computers will work with O'Ryan and finish their Who am I project. Students in printmaking should be transferring their portrait over, and begun carving. Why are we doing this: Computer students are meeting deadlines for their Who am I project while students in the drawing groups are in the middle of the printmaking process: carving. How are we doing this: Computer students are finishing up their projects, and saving their files twice: 1) One as a .psd file 2) second one as a .jpg. File save as is Command or Ctrl + Shift + S. Change the format to .psd...then repeat the step...change the format to a .jpg. Place the .jpg version on your website, under Who am I?. Look at the project requirements on what to write under your image. Due by end of Class. Drawing Students are carving. You had yesterday to finish transferring your image and today you should be carving. Get the tools out, heat up the plate, and lets get to work. You have till Friday. :) Deadlines: (Computers) Who am I Project is due by the end of class today and (Drawing) carving process completed by Friday.

Students in computers will work with O'Ryan on how to do the Who am I project, while drawing students adjust their self portraits on the computers, and will have a printed version of themselves in hand by the end of class. Why are we doing this: Computer kids need to know how to do the next project...as you only have a week...while drawing students need access to computers/printer to prepare for printmaking. How are we doing this: Students in computers will grab a notebook and a pen, come sit up front and work with O'Ryan. Students in Drawing will get back on a computer. 1. Open up their selfie in Photoshop playing with Levels (Command/Ctrl L) trying to get their selfie to be a high contrast photo. To change a color photo to black and white hit on the keyboard: Command or Ctrl + Shift + U. 2. Print either a 8x10 or 5x7 to the HP Laser Jet Printer. 3. Save this new image to your google drive in case you screw up. Here is what you want to accomplish by the end of class: What are we doing:
Students in computers are using the last block day to finish all three mini tutorials. Students in drawing are learning about the next assignment with Ms. O'Ryan: Printmaking Map Portraits Why are we doing this: Students in computers are demonstrating mastery of the basic level Photoshop skills, found in each of the mini tutorials. If you don't know how to use Photoshop, the rest of this is very difficult as we move on to showing meaning and mood in our digital pieces. Drawing students need to understand the basics of the assignment, and listening and seeing O'Ryan explain this, will help.. How are we doing this: Students in computers are saving each mini tutorial twice: once as a .psd, once as a .jpg. Place all three jpgs on your website under MIni Tutorials. Write a brief description under each one describing the new tools learning, frustrating, and how you overcame obstacles. Drawing students: you are hanging out with me today. Deadline: All three mini tutorials are due today. Has anyone seen Laura and her collage art?? All drawing students need to read over yesterday's agenda and complete the assignment.
